This course (run over 5 days) has been designed to provide less experienced students with an introduction to Inspection and Testing: (Initial Verification) of electrical installations. The course is also suitable for practicing electricians who have not had the opportunity of carrying out inspection and testing in their day to day work, and require some updated training before going onto the advanced Level 3 (2391-10).
The course itself is split into three parts:
• Preparation for initial inspection and testing
• Electrical Inspection
• Electrical Testing
Each of the above sections contains theory and practical elements and the course is assessed by a multiple choice online test as well as a practical test.
The required reading list for this course includes:
Requirements For Electrical Installation (IEE Regulations) 17th Edition
IEE On-site Guide; BS 7671: 2008 IEE Wiring Regulations 17th Edition
The IEE Guidance Note 3
There are no formal entry requirements for students undertaking this Electrical qualification. It is reasonably expected that potential candidates have a basic knowledge and understanding of the current BS 7671, as well as Electro-technical Technology 2330 level science and principles. Experience of electrical installation work either within the electrical contracting industry or an allied trade would be a distinct advantage.
The course cost is £630.30 including deposit and VAT.
